MSc Position

An M.Sc. position is available through the University of Alberta in the laboratory of Dr. Stacy Singer (Research Scientist in the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre; Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta; Stacy.Singer@agr.gc.ca ) with a starting date in the spring of 2027. Dr. Gavin Chen will serve as the co-supervisor.

The project would focus on the use of Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and gene editing in the forage legume, Onobrychis viciifolia, and the functional characterization of genes with potential involvement in abiotic and biotic stress resilience. This work would have a strong emphasis on plant tissue culture, molecular biology, biotechnology, and physiology.

The student will take courses at the University of Alberta in Edmonton and conduct research in the Agri-Food Canada Lethbridge Research and Development Centre in Lethbridge. Interested candidates can apply through the following links:
